At last a place for softplastics

Can you believe we are nearly a quarter of the way through 2017 already? It has been a frantic start to the year and we have been working tirelessly trying to put in place systems to launch the new Soft Plastics programme in Queenstown and Wanaka. It was with great pleasure that we have been able to work closely with the Packaging forum/Love NZ and Replas Australia to fast track the programme into the Queenstown Lakes district.

Mayor; Jim Boult, officially launched the programme last Friday ( 17th March) in front of the new Countdown store at 5 mile shopping centre. The audience included representatives from the packaging forum and other participating member retailers such as PacnSave, New World, Fresh Choice and a select group of councillors.

As a 100% NZ owned and operated business, Smart Environmental are delighted that we have been able to fast track the soft plastics programme, in fact we were able to delay a few other regions based on providing a cost effective; robust supply chain. It is very fulfilling to be part of a solution for the communities demand for a plastic bag recycling scheme.
